Youth’s Favourite Spots in Malaysia
Malaysia, not a strange name among the travel enthusiastis. According to a statistic provided by the Malaysian tourism board, we have attracted 7.09 million tourists in the first quarter of 2014. That increases the revenue of the country significantly. This shows us that, we do have a lot of interesting places in our country. iTimes.my did a small survey on the favourite places for Malaysians especially the youths who were spending their Saturday in KLCC.
24 year old James Jeyakkumar said that, Penang is his favourite place. “I love the food in Penang. My favourite is of course Nasi Kandar and Gurney Drive. They are the absolute best food and place to get food. I like the toy museum there. It brings back my memories. I like other places too. I will ensure i visit Penang at least 3 times in a year’ he added.
“My hometown is Pahang. Now in KL to continue my studies. We always travel as a group of friends (batchmates) on semester breaks. So far, we have visited Malacca and Port Dickson only. We do not have additional cash to spend on our holidays. That makes us to select the nearest places and accommodation which affordable at the same time comfortable. We still have 2 more years to finish our studies and we plan to explore few other places by then. That’s our plan.” said Ms.veena who is a first year student in Universiti Malaya.
33 year old Chezhiyan said that, his favourite destination is Langkawi. Langkawi is one stop centre of all activities. Cave exploration for the explorers, paragliding for the adventure seekers, history lovers, nature nerds, kids and so on. You name anyone, there is a place for them to visit in Langkawi he added. I’ve been to Langkawi many times. However, I always wanted to go back to Langkawi.
Everyone selects their location based on their affordability or budget, what they love and their hobby is what we could summarize from the small survey. We should explore Malaysia first before visiting other countries.
