Success ! IOJ Has Been Launched

Provide assistance to the poor and vulnerable

Institut Onn Ja’afar (IOJ) which was launched today by its patron Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein Onn aims to assist and help out the poor and vulnerable by providing medical, education, food and material aids through volunteerism.

Chief Executive Officer of IOJ Charles Mohan said the vision of this newly formed NGO is to be a leading volunteer organization to extend any form of assistance to those in need especially the underserved segments of the community.

According to Charles, IOJ will extend its help through five ways: (1) On-ground mobilization of volunteers, (2) Medical check-ups and humanitarian relief, (3) Volunteers to teach poor children for free, (4) Gather and distribute material aids during disaster and (5) Coordinate food donation and distribution.

“In order for us to extend our assistance to the needy, IOJ will be avenue for volunteer. Opportunities for Malaysians as young as 16 years old of all races, religions and social backgrounds to promote and encourage volunteerism as a way of life,” said Charles.

“Reaching out to others will definitely provide intrinsic rewards for our volunteers, who will find their lives changed by simply serving others selflessly and this is what we aspire to achieve in IOJ.”
“We are targeting to recruit 500 to 1000 active volunteer within the first year of the launching. So if you want to make a change in someone else’s life and kick start your volunteer adventure, sign up with IOJ,” said an enthused Charles.

He added that IOJ will be conducting a recruitment drive through road-shows in schools, public universities as well as private universities. IOJ is also open to working adults.
