NRD Undergoes System Upgrades
Malaysians will have to wait a little longer to get their MyKad done as the National Registration Department undergoes a system upgrade that affects 43 branches nationwide from 10th until Jan 25.
JPN director-general Datuk Sulaiman Keling (pic) said the maintenance and upgrade involved enhancing MyKad processing machines.
“This latest exercise will ensure that MyKad will be ready faster, within 24 hours,” he said in a statement yesterday. During this period, the issuance of MyKad at 43 branches would take 10 working days, he added.
At present, same-day collection of MyKad is available at selected JPN branches.
The affected 43 branches are: JPN Perlis; (Kedah) JPN Alor Setar, UTC Kedah, JPN Kulim; (Penang) JPN Pulau Pinang; (Perak) JPN Ipoh, UTC Perak, JPN Bagan Datoh, JPN Sri Manjung; (Selangor) JPN Shah Alam, JPN Klang, JPN Petaling Jaya; (KL) JPN Wilayah Persekutuan, UTC Kuala Lumpur, UTC Keramat, UTC Mini Sentul; (Negri Sembilan) JPN Seremban; (Malacca) JPN Melaka, UTC Melaka; (Johor) JPN Johor Baru, UTC Johor Baru, JPN Kluang, JPN Batu Pahat; (Pahang) JPN Kuantan, UTC Pahang, JPN Raub, JPN Temerloh; (Terengganu) JPN Kuala Terengganu, JPN Dungun, JPN Besut; (Kelantan) JPN Kota Baru, JPN Machang, JPN Gua Musang; (Sarawak) JPN Kuching, UTC Kuching, JPN Miri, JPN Sibu, JPN Sri Aman; and (Sabah) JPN Kota Kinabalu, JPN Tawau, UTC Kota Kinabalu, JPN Sandakan and JPN Keningau.
