The young and vibrant 19 years old Director Praboo Arivananthan who hails from Melaka has been into film making since the young age of 13 years old. Former St. Francis Institution scholar never thought that he’d see himself directing a cinema film at the age of 17 with ‘KID’, being his first cinema release this 7th May 2015. His personal belief & quote on life is “Do what you want to do, take every hurdle faced as a chance to improve one’s life.”

The fundamental plot for KID was written in 2009 by Praboo Ariva after reading a succession of kidnap stories in the newspaper which is also becoming out of control nowadays in our society. Praboo spent 5 years penning down the narrative and kept it to himself until he felt it was right to reveal the story line to certain close people whom later became official screenwriters for KID. They worked hard and diligently on the story line, which depicts the kidnappers’ point of view. The shooting of the movie began on 27th November 2013 as a short film and in February 2014, the team completed 75% of the short film.

Later in March that year, renowned playhouse King and Malaysia born K Balachander producer ST Bala and Praboo met up in Kuala Lumpur to talk about the film. ST Bala guided the team in the process of making KID, a cinema movie. A few months later the team restarted shooting, maintaining the same artistes and completed the movie in less than a month. Post productions began in late August and completed during the Christmas. D’ Cinema TV of D’Maraz Ravi took up the responsibility of converting the movie into digital format and did a very good job. After almost a year, KID is now ready to be released in selected cinemas nationwide, marking Praboo Ariva’s directorial debut along with the crew into the cinema industry.
