Satay Not Famous in Kajang Anymore

It’s the Flash Floods

Fingers are pointed at the Selangor State Government that its decision in February this year to cancel a flood mitigation project had caused the recent devastating flood in Kajang, its worst in 40 years.

New MB Azmin Ali holds a big responsible in resolving a long and never ending unfulfilled promise by his party President Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah in Kajang. A downpour on Monday afternoon caused flash floods in Kajang town. Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) public relations officer Kamarul Izlan Sulaiman said the heavy rain that started around 4.30pm, lasted for more than one hour, resulting in water level to rise quickly.

iTimes.my took an randomly interviewed 12 people from the public here in Metro Plaza Kajang. Many comments were not siding on the Pakatan government as people are complaining that there was no improvement for the past 6 years. A taxi driver, Murugiah Chellapan, 54, said that Wan Azizah can’t be blamed totally because she is still new as it will take time for her.

Santhana Munisamy, 34, said from what she can recall, this is being happening since 2008. But there is no any action taken. We here in Kajang are always in fear especially when it starts raining very heavily. She said who ever the person incharge, please do something.

Sellathurai Mariappan, 65, retired MPKj officer said things were very much better in development and fast resolution was taking place when the Barisan National government was ruling. Now we hardly see our assemblyman around.
This flood issues reflects ‘Kajang Move’ as a failure. Can Kajang assemblymen keep up her promise to the rakyat? Mentri Besar Azmin Ali is very certain that this issue can be resolved in his first 100 days. Just hope this flood would not be a hurdle for Wan Azizah to become an assemnlymen in the next term.
