PERSAMA Kicks Starts 8th Annual World Autism Awareness Day

Good Souls Teams Up To Celebrate The Day

 

The 8th Annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2015. Each and every year, Autism related organizations residing all around the world celebrate the day with only one of its kind fundraising and awareness raising events. How Malaysia and the good hearted citizens celebrated the day? Let’s glance.

On early morning of World Autism Awareness Day, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), a Malaysian public broadcaster which has 36 radio and three television stations in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur and the first broadcaster in Malaysia.and MINNAL FM, a Malaysian national Indian radio station operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia which was the first 24 hours Indian language broadcast service in the world took the first step ahead together with Pertubuhan Sayang Malaysia (PERSAMA) on 8th World Austism Awareness Day celebration at Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur. The presence of Kollywood renowned artist Prithivee Raj made the celebration more pleasant to the eyes. On World Autism Awareness Day, everyone wears blue themed attire to expand the awareness of it.

On elegant Night of World Autism Awareness Day, in conjunction of World Autism Awareness Day, Pertubuhan Sayang Malaysia (PERSAMA) had Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness (LIUBA) Campaign Launch at Berjaya Times, Kuala Lumpur on World Autism Awareness Day itself. The official sponsor of LIUBA is Berjaya Times Group, The Berjaya Corporation group of companies’ history dates back to 1984 when Founder, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun acquired a majority controlling stake in Berjaya Industrial Berhad. The project sponsor of Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness (LIUBA) is ALC College where the future leaders are created. PERSAMA takes the opportunity to thank, especially Edmund Edward, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ALC College.

“As a President of Pertubuhan Sayang Malaysia (PERSAMA), I am so glad that Malaysians especially Indians accepted Autism in Malaysia. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child’s life. The signs typically develop gradually, but some children with autism will reach their developmental milestones at a normal pace and then regress,” articulated Malaysia renowned Singer Thila Laxshman, the President of PERSAMA.

Malaysia renowned Singer Thila Laxshman, the President of PERSAMA also added with ‘Jananam’, the first Tamil song in Malaysia for children with Autism, in the vocal of herself with the magical hands of Saran Narayanan is a community project for Pertubuhan Sayang Malaysia (PERSAMA). Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. M. Kayveas, a Malaysian politician and President of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and currently a Special Advisor to the Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai. Former Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department gave love gift amount of RM 33, 000 for Jananam to commemorate the World Autism Day.

To be a part of this noble journey, please grace with your presence to Jananam on 19th April 2015 at Auditorium Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). The time is 7.30 p.m. onward. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. M. Kayveas will perform official duties of Jananam’s official audio and music video launch. Autism is not lunatic. It is just an ordinary special effect on human beings, especially those lovely children.
