First Deepavali!

Let’s Live and Prosper

“Happy Deepavali to you!” that’s the message iTimes.my wanted to wish their readers on this auspicious day. This will be their first Deepavali for the ‘iTimers’ since they started their operation a few months ago. They started with Success! Success! Success! and they are doing successfully and gaining popularity day by day. They have achieved something which no other daily newspaper dreamed of doing. When they has been requested to wish their readers happy Deepavali, they said there is a better person to wish these to their entire nation.

Malaysia Hindu Sangam President, Dato Mohan Shan wished Happy Deepavali via iTimes.my media. In his message “I would like to wish Happy Deepavali to all the Hindus in Malaysia. All the Hindus should join their hands together in this Deepavali to celebrate. We must sweep away the evil habbits from our heart by lighting good spirit in our heart. We should avoid alcohol and meat which is not related to Hinduism and should concentrate on providing vegetarian meals and celebrate with family and friends.” requested Dato Mohan Shan.

Entrepreneurs scholars, medical doctors, engineer, IT Engineer, professional investors, trainers, legal consultant, NGO volunteers, artist and other professional peopled filled the iTimes.my team. When we asked how you are going to celebrate your first Deepavali, they replied chorusly “as far as we know, Deepavali is celebrated to welcome goddess Lakhsmi. Goddess Lakhsmi brings wealth and prosperity for the family. Therefore, we are going to clean and decorate our office to welcome goddess Lakhsmi. We are going to bring vegetarian food from our family to office and celebrate together with iTimes family. Then only we are going back to our hometown to celebrate Deepavali. We are going to prepare the house to welcome goddess Lakshmi”.

We wished Happy Deepevali to the iTimes.my team and asked about their future plans for their daily. We were amazed when we listened to their plans. The most important thing about their plan is to provide special edition. They are planning to release at least 1 special edition with specific subjects everyday. It will increase gradually to reach their goal of 4 special edition per day. At the moment they already have 28 titles with them. When we asked why you were so ambitious on providing so many special editions which has never been tried by anybody before, they replied calmly that they want to vision beyond journalism. And that is our duty to the community they replied.

We further asked about why they come up with the bilingual approach?, They answered that, there are thousands of Indians can read Tamil at the same time, there are many others who are not able to read in Tamil but eager to know the Indian matters that matter to Indians. However the sources to provide Indian related news are very slim. Therefore, we realised the challenges and wanted to create something to pass the news to this category of people. We want to carry positive news and vibrations and avoid any negative feeling in our daily.

We wished the iTimes members, their families and all Hindus a very Happy Deepavali too.
