Vignesh Prabhu started his Malaysian Film industry journey as an actor. He has acted in short films such as ‘Azhage Nee Aabaththu’ and ‘yuththam’. He also acted in ‘Ilango’, ‘Ragasiya Kaathali’, ‘Thuraththal’, ‘Gowriyin Kathai’, ‘Mellath Thiranthathu Kathavu’ and ‘Velvi’ films. He also played minor roles in dramas. ‘Kanavugal’, ‘Roda-roda Kuala Lumpur’ and ‘Iru Paathaigal’ to name a few. With this experience and performance, he was offered the lead role in ‘Thedale Jeyam’ local movie.
After gathering experience for 5 years in this industry, he directed a short movie with community message titled ‘Mittran’. The short movie runs about 20 minutes. The short movie clearly highlights a social issue faced by the Indian community in Malaysia and its impacts. Vignesh also wrote the screenplay for this short movie.
When we asked why he selected the this industry, “I’m very passionate about the entertainment industry. I want to learn about scripting, acting, music, direction and other related fields in this industry. That’s the reason I ventured into direction after gaining experience for 5 years in this industry. I’m learning slowly about other field’s too.” he said.
“I came through an announcement for a competition for the Tamil Short Film Award for northern reason. I was having this good story and I immediately started to work on this project. Apart from this competition, I’ve send my short film to ‘Indian Malaysian Short Movie Award’ put together by Director S.T.Bala and ‘BMW Malaysian Short Movie Award’. I was informed that, all the outcome of the competition will be made public by the end of the year” Vignesh added.
What is your plan for your future was the next question asked by iTimes. “I’m graduated in Sports Science and Counselling. Currently I’m waiting for my posting to be a teacher. But my dream is about the entertainment industry. I’ll be spending my available time in this industry. I want to put my energy in this industry later in the future and provide community messages to Indian Malaysians” said Vignesh enthusiastically.
The short film is released in YouTube and being shared in Facebook widely. Everyone can watch the movie for free in their free time.
