Sarathkumar Praised The Execptional Talent of Malaysia
Since the Tamil movie industry started its operations in Tamilnadu, India, many Malaysian talents tried to carve their name there. Well known names like actor Ravichandran, Singer Malaysia Vasudevan, Actor P.Maheswaran, Actress Ramya Raj, Producer ‘Punnagai Poo’ Gheetha Ammasi managed to enter and carved their names in Tamil film industry. Now, we have entry of a Malaysian actor who has joined the list.
Haridhass has played a villain role in the newly released movie ‘Nee, Naan, Nizhal’. Actor Sarathkumar who played a role as Malaysian police praised Haridhass as a good villain from Malaysia during the launch of the movie where Haridhaas feels it was a great honour and unforgettable moment to hear such statement from a great actor.
“This movie talks about a young lady and man out there trapped in cyber world especially the women. All young women must watch this movie to increase their awareness about their safety measure in cyber world.
“Sarathkumar plays the Malaysian police character while I’m the villain of the movie,” Haridhass said to iTimes.
Haridhass who has acted in more than 50 TV series, Telemovies and other artistic works told, “My aim is to be a director since the first day I joined the Malaysian Entertainment Industry. Since then, I always used my free time to learn about the direction. I’m a photographer by profession and being behind the camera is always in my blood. I used my experiences I gained all these years to direct 2 short movies and hope to improve my skills from here.
When further asked to explain about the short movies, “The 2 short movies are ‘Paapaa’ where we tried to highlight the message of “abortion equal to murder” to the community. The other movie ‘Nallathor Veenai Seithe’ discusses about human beings character to beg to God for their materialistic lifestyle. Both movies have been uploaded on YouTube for viewing,” Haridhass said. We further asked about his immediate plan, and he answered, “I’m working on a new theatrical movie now. The preliminary works are going on and I will update on that very soon.”
This great actor always unhappy over something in Malaysian Entertainment Industry which he shy away from expressing. iTimes.my was glad to be a platform for him to share his thoughts. We asked him what bothered him so much in this industry. The first statement given by him left us dumbfounded. “Indian Malaysian artists are not given a lot of opportunities in Malaysia to improve and excel just like fellow artists from neighboring races. Yet there are still a lot of artists who are passionate about what they do and continue to put their heart and soul of the industry. This industry has been monopolized by a certain group of people and they decide where the industry should move ahead. We want the situation to change. He also complains that there is no labour association of the Indian Malaysian Artists and list of technicians to be their backbone.
We have got no one to voice out our issues. No one is talking about the need of having EPF, Socso, medical and other benefits of these technicians in the industry. We need one united voice for this issues. Unfortunately, we can’t find them here. There’s no talk of full time job or fixed salary in this industry. We only have have artists and technicians who work fulltime elsewhere and take entertainment industry a part time hobby. How can we expect a high quality, international standard Malaysian Movie with these issues shadowing the industry? I’m not sure when we can see the silver line in the sky,”said the frustrated actor.
Actor Haridhass has his points. We are surprised that a senior artist like him too has frustrated with Malaysian entertainment Industry. We hope to look into the issue seriously. There are truths in his statement. Indians were the pioneers of film industry in Malaysia. But, till today we have not grown to where others have. Hope to see this issue being addressed by the relevant party.
