The Prominent Debate Tournament Geared Into Global Arena
The much anticipated Ministry of Education Cup known as MoEC is gearing up into global arena. For those who have less idea of what MoEC is, do follow up reading. MoEC is a foundational debate event organised by students of University of Malaya (UM) or to be specific, residents of the Second Residential College known as 2nd RC. With the growing popularity within the nation and surrounding it, there should be lads and lasses realise that this is an Asian Parliamentary Debate-style tournament that is heading towards its fifth edition.
This three-day competition from April 17th,2015 till 19th of April 2015 is already promising the tough of ‘ideological combat’ and verbal maturity amongst the participants. Since its inception five years ago, MoEC has spreads its wings to the international stage. Compared to the previous editions, this year, undergraduates from over 36 public and private universities in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong will be showing off their debating skills in the battlefield.
The vibrant committee members of MoEC believe in providing a platform of interaction of undergraduates that may enhance their communication and interactive skills, thus broadening the social network around the Asia-Pacific region. Deeply trusting in improving the quality of the undergraduates in Malaysia, the committee is also portraying higher determination and gaining support from collaborating partners.
“The greater part is MoEC has always been the best in improving the quality of the graduates from University of Malaya by pushing them to their limits,” said Bernard Chiew Chia Shern, the Director of MoEC V. “We, as a team, carry on a greater mission to unearth new talents and to enhance communication and interactive skills that will foster friendship among undergraduates in Malaysia,” he added.
While the prominent event will be grand this year, the organizing committee of MoEC is looking for sponsorships, to experience a smooth conduction of the grandeur event. “Yes, we do need financial support for our expenses throughout the event. Sponsorship in-kind such as food and beverages, souvenirs and stationeries are much we be grateful for for,” stated the esteemed Director of MoEC V, hoping for overflowing supports by prestigious companies and organizations. Collaborating partners shall have no worries since advantageous credits will be rewarded.
