MIC Wanita Johor Persuades Enrollment
Silambam one of the oldest existing martial arts is a total body and mind fitness exercise and a self-defense art. The significant element of it is its very well prearranged techniques, deeply expressed to each other set of footwork with the fluency defense tactics.
“The Federation is affiliated with 22 countries worldwide. Silambam teaches self defense and also the art of concentration as for each move and hit, one needs careful movement and concentration. For students, this would greatly enhance discipline and their concentration power in studies,” uttered The Founder and General Secretary of World Silambam Federation, Mr Kalari P.Selvaraj who is a master of many other martial arts and Mr Power Pandian, the cine-stunt master for Tamil cinemas in India.
For women, as this art requires movement of all parts of bodies, it is a great form of slimming exercise. It’s very practical for women as it does not take great strength but concentration and tactics. Even older women above 40 need not fear knee or bone problem, as the movements here are gentle and in fact would strengthen their bones and knees and strengthens inner health.
It’s important to practice good healthy lifestyle from a young age and also for the elders, set an example to the youngsters.
In light of this, MIC Wanita Johor with Silambam Johor headed by its Chairman Mr. Sivan Krishnan would hold an exclusive Silambam class for women. The classes would be held indoors in community halls, Tamil school halls or temple halls whichever close in the demanded area.
